Application of active surveillance protocols for low risk localized prostate

October 19th, 2009 Posted in watchful waiting

A recent study focused the problems with application of active surveillance protocols for low risk localized prostate cancer.

Researchers point out the difficulty in choosing the appropriate patients to counsel regarding active surveillance. Clearly the current diagnostic tests are not adequate.

The study conclusion has been presented at the World Congress of Endourology (WCE) - 27th Annual Meeting - October 6 - 10, 2009 - Sheraton Grand Hotel - Munich, Germany
