Antibody kills prostate cancer
December 29th, 2009 Posted in prostate cancerUS scientists have discovered a super-molecule which targets and destroys prostate cancer cells, giving hope to men in the final stages of the disease.
F77 is a monoclonal antibody which can be mass-produced in the laboratory by copying a single type of immune system protein. The antibody attacks advanced tumours in patients who are incurable after becoming resistant to treatment.
However, it could also be used for patients in the early stages of the disease, doubling its benefits.
