Plumbagin inhibits the growth and invasion of prostate cancer

A research team at Department of Human Oncology, School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin 53792, USA, has have reported that a product known as plumbagin (a natural medicinal product derived from the plant Plumbago zeylanica L.) inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells and may have potential as a novel agent for the treatment of hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
